MCCS sets June 1 for on-air unveiling of new identity of channels

Following the announcement of the withdrawal of the Star brand and the relaunching of Star News as ABP News in Hindi, Star Ananda as ABP Ananda in Bengali and Star Majha as ABP Majha in Marathi, MCCS has announced that the official on-air relaunch would happen from June 1, 2012.
Ashok Venkatramani, CEO, MCCS, said in a press statement this morning, “We are launching this through a massive communication campaign which begins later today. Our communication has been developed by one of the best advertising teams in the country – Lowe Mumbai – and the media buying plan has been developed through Mindshare. We would be over the next eight weeks aggressively communicating the change, using a combination of TV, Print, Radio, Outdoor and Internet, to all our viewers and stakeholders about our new name and logo, which incidentally is being carried in this letterhead as well.”
Venkatramani added that MCCS would also be changing its mail communication ID shortly.
The three news channels of MCCS have developed into market leaders in their segments over the last eight years. It has quality resources in its employees and has built good equity amongst its stakeholder – loyal viewer base, clients, distribution partners and vendors, Venkatramani said.
“Our channels are managed by a fine bunch of professionals – editors, journalists, technicians who would continue to maintain the highest standards of ethical journalism. We also have a strong and professional set of people in sales, marketing and distribution who would continue to strive to ensure that value is delivered to our clients. Consistent with this fact, we have a simple communication theme – Our Stars don’t change, our News does not change, only our name changes,” elaborated Venkatramani.
