The Frenchman won ahead of Sami Selio of Finland with Portugal's Duarte Benavente third.Chiappe had been chased late in the race by Erik Stark's Team Sweden boat but it developed mechanical problems and had to drop out. United Arab Emirates driver Ahmed Al Hameli was fortunate to be uninjured after a qualifying crash the previous day. After qualifying well Al Hameli drifted wide and swiped a floating pontoon, launching his boat into a series of rolls. He did not start the race as a result.
