CNN apologizes, bans panelist who made racist comment on Muslim journalist in LIVE debate
CNN has banned the panelist who made objectionable comments on a Muslim journalist in a live TV debate. CNN anchor Abby Phillip apologized to the Muslim journalist and said that there is no place for racism or bigotry on CNN or in our broadcasts.

The channel had made an on-air comment on a Muslim journalist by its journalist, which the outlet had termed as racist. CNN apologized to the Muslim journalist and said that it has banned a conservative commentator from its network.

During a discussion late Monday night on the recent rhetoric made by US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump at a rally, Trump supporter and panelist Ryan James Girdusky told Muslim journalist Mehdi Hasan, "I hope your beeper doesn't go off."
However, Girdusky later apologized on air for his comments, but on social media he defended himself saying that it was a joke. Earlier, Hasan had said that he is a supporter of Palestine.
