Media like dogs roaming outside a butcher shop : CPM Leader Krishnadas stands firm amid Opposition's criticism
Kochi: CPM's Kerala State Committee member NN Krishnadas has made a controversial comment about the media. He compared journalists to dogs and vultures. Krishnadas said that the media people are roaming like dogs roaming outside a butcher's shop. They come with mikes like vultures. He is being severely criticized for this. However, he refused to apologize.
Krishnadas said, "The media has been roaming like dogs roaming outside a butcher's shop since morning. If they come with mikes like vultures, I cannot answer." He is being criticized from the opposition to the media for this statement. However, despite all the criticism, Krishnadas is adamant on his statement and said that whatever he said, he said it after thinking.
In his defense, Krishnadas said, "I spoke thoughtfully and with good intentions. A large crowd had gathered at Shukkur's house, causing inconvenience. The purpose of the media was not to report, but to turn the story towards the right-wing side. I stand by what I said with good intentions.” He refused to apologize, calling the media right-wing.

At the same time, CPM politburo member A Vijayaraghavan said that the party has no complaint with the media. Media acts as a democratic institution in the society. CPM state secretary MV Govindan said that constructive criticism should be done using appropriate language. Strong criticism should also be expressed in good language.
Leader of Opposition in Kerala Assembly VD Satishan criticized Krishnadas for using such words. Congress leader Satishan said, "Krishnadas's comment reflects the language of the CPM. The media was only doing its job." Palakkad UDF candidate Rahul Mamkuthatil said that it is not right to compare journalists to dogs roaming outside butcher shops.
In fact, former area committee member of Palakkad, Kerala, Abdul Shukkur had announced to leave the CPM. After this, the media wanted to take his statement regarding his statement. Meanwhile, Shukkur arrived at the LDF conference venue along with CPM state committee member NN Krishnadas and made this statement to the media.
