Punjab's Bhagwant Mann Government took a big action in the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's interview case, 7 policemen including 2 DSPs suspended
Chandigarh : Big action has been taken in the interview case of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, lodged in Punjab jail. Seven policemen have been suspended in this case. The Bhagwant Mann government has also suspended two DSPs Gursher Sandhu and Sameer Vaneet. A total of seven policemen have been suspended.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the state police led by Special Director General of Police (Human Rights) found that Lawrence Bishnoi was interviewed when he was in Kharar, Mohali in the custody of Punjab Police. His second interview was done in Rajasthan. Keeping in mind the sensitivity of the matter, all the above officers have been suspended.

The Home Secretary's order cited the SIT report, which stated that Lawrence Bishnoi's interview broadcast on a private TV channel was conducted through video conference on the midnight of 3 and 4 September 2022.
In March last year, ABP News ran two interviews of Bishnoi. The first interview was conducted at the premises of CIA (Crime Investigation Agency) Staff, Kharar which falls under the jurisdiction of SAS Nagar, Mohali. The second interview was taken when Bishnoi was lodged in Jaipur Central Jail. Lawrence Bishnoi is accused of murdering Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.
At the same time, earlier the Special Investigation Team of Punjab Police had acquitted gangster Lawrence Bishnoi of extortion charges, but the investigation of intimidation against him will continue. The Special Investigation Team of Punjab Police has filed a cancellation report in the Mohali court to cancel the case registered against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
