India's government broadcaster launched OTT platform WAVES on the lines of Netflix, Prime Video and Hotstar

65 live channels, video-on-demand, free-to-play gaming, and cyber shopping will be available on the WAVES

New Delhi: India's government broadcaster 'Prasar Bharati' has launched its OTT platform WAVES. You will be able to access WAVES OTT on both Android and iOS platforms. WAVES is being promoted as a 'new wave of family entertainment'. WAVES has been launched at the 55th International Film Festival of India. It is being made available in Hindi, English, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Punjabi and Assamese languages.

You will get to see the retro modern digital trend on the WAVES platform. It will offer more than 65 live channels, movies, interactive games, live events as well as online shopping. This platform will also feature young content creators who have been given the National Creator Award.

On the WAVES OTT platform, you will get the facility of video on demand, free-to-play gaming, live TV streaming with 65 live channels, radio streaming, app integration and online shopping through ONDC.

You will be able to access the WAVES app for free from Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You will get most of the content on this platform for free.

On the other hand, for premium content, you will have to buy a subscription plan. The Platinum plan of this platform will be for Rs 999 per year, which includes live TV channels, movies and exclusive shows. Users can stream simultaneously on four devices and enjoy Ultra HD (1080P) streaming quality. It also gives access to offline downloads, radio access and background play function. In this, users also get a 10% discount on video-on-demand (TVOD) services.

On the other hand, the Diamond plan of this platform is priced at Rs 350 per year. The price of this plan for one year is Rs 350, the price of three-month plan is Rs 85 and the monthly price is Rs 30. In this, customers will get movies, live channels and on-demand content and HD (720P) streaming quality. Users will be able to connect two devices in it. This plan also includes downloads, live TV and radio options.

At present, this app does not support any in-app payment feature. You can buy the subscription from the platform's website wavespb.com. On this platform, you will get access to popular shows like Fauji 2.0, Jackson Holt, Kicking Balls, Roll No. 52, Jaayeye Aap Kahan Jayegi, Monkey King: The Hero is Back, Fouja, Thode Door Thode Paas, Bhed Bhram, Bharat Ka Amrit Kalash, along with Akbar Birbal, Chhota Bheem and other animated content.
