Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla explains why he keeps distance from Media
Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla spoke on several issues on Nikhil Kamath's show 'People by WTF' |
Kumar Mangalam Birla told in a conversation with Nikhil Kamath that he likes to maintain distance from the media. He feels that it is not necessary for his work to be in front of the people all the time. He wants to keep his personal life and thoughts limited to himself.
Birla said, 'I have deliberately maintained distance from the media. I do not think that for my work I should be in front of the people all the time and personally I am a private person. I am not very interested in sharing things about my personal life or I would like to keep all my personal thoughts to myself. That's all. There is no other reason for this.'

Birla further said that if he has to express his opinion on any issue, he expresses his views on the right platform or place. Instead of reaching out to the people through the media, he shares his views with work, government or family. He believes that it is important to have the right platform for conversation.
He clarified, 'I mean that if you want, you have platforms to express your opinion, whether it is at work, whether it is with the government or whether it is your family, instead of talking about it to the people at large through the media. I would like to talk about it on an appropriate platform. It can be a dinner table conversation.'
Birla stressed that if he is completely convinced about something, he never hesitates to say his point. Even if it offends someone. It is important for him to put his point in front of the right people. "I have never been worried about being unpopular because of this or rubbing anybody the wrong way if it comes from a place of conviction," Birla said.
