Bihar Social Media Policy : Nitish government will give advertisements to social media influencers

Bihar government will give advertisements to social media influencers

The Bihar Information and Public Relations Department under the leadership of Nitish government has brought the Social Media and Other Online Media Policy 2024. In this, government advertisements will be given to the users who create content and videos on social media. The cabinet of Bihar government has also approved this.

The State Information Public Relations Department said that this is a golden opportunity for social media influencers, web media and those who upload content on mobile apps. The Bihar government will give money to a person or firm having at least one lakh followers or subscribers and at least 50 thousand average unique average per month on user IDs like Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, website, news portal, web media, news mobile app, podcast etc. They will have to promote the public welfare and development schemes of the government.

The Bihar government has created four categories of social media and web media on the basis of the number of followers on social media platforms. If any media listed under this manual broadcasts material that is anti-national, indecent, anti-social or promotes communal hatred or is contrary to the norms of government messages or against the guidelines of the Press Council of India, then there is a provision for de-listing or blacklisting of such media.

People interested in applying can visit the Social Media Policy section of the Bihar Information and Public Relations Department website, where the application form present there has to be filled and submitted.
