During the meeting of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with US President Donald Trump, a journalist's strange question further heated up the atmosphere.
The question was about Zelensky's attire, on hearing which the Ukrainian President became angry. After the journalist's question, the meeting held in the White House turned into a heated debate.
While talking to reporters in the Oval Office, Brian Glenn asked Zelensky this question, "why don't you wear a suit? Don't you have any suit? You have come to visit the highest office in the country. The people of America are very angry with you for this. They feel that you do not respect the dignity of the office."
Brian Glenn is a correspondent for Real America Voice. It is a right-wing cable channel that has spread conspiracy theories about non-citizen voting. Glenn's outlet was selected on Friday to take a "secondary TV" role in the White House press pool along with CNN.
Responding to this question, Zelensky said that I will wear this type of clothes after the war is over. Just like you or maybe something better than this, let's see,' but right now there might be something cheaper than this, so I wear this.
During this, Donald Trump tried to lighten the atmosphere by saying, I like your outfit. But the controversy did not end here. A big debate broke out on this issue on social media. Many people asked that if Elon Musk can come to the cabinet meeting wearing a T-shirt and cap, then why was Zelensky's outfit questioned?

Journalist Glenn's comments on Zelensky match Trump's comments made on Friday, when the Ukrainian leader got out of his car at the White House. Then Trump also commented on his outfit. Pointing to Zelensky's dress, Trump told reporters, "He is fully dressed today."
During his meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office, President Zelensky wore black pants and sweatshirt. He was also wearing black boots as bottom wear. Since the start of the war, Zelensky has regularly worn standard-issue field uniforms to show solidarity with his country's armed forces.
Questions about Zelensky's not wearing a suit were immediately criticized online. Lawmakers and media critics were quick to point out that just this week, Elon Musk arrived at a Cabinet meeting wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the words "Tech Support" under an overcoat. And when Musk was speaking with Trump in the Oval Office earlier this month, he appeared wearing a shirt that read "Occupy Mars."
This is not the first time Zelensky's attire has been questioned. In December 2024, Zelensky wore a similar outfit to a meeting with Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron at the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
